Terms of Service

These terms are written in plain English. If you have any questions, email me directly at arthur.tabifixer@gmail.com — I'm happy to clarify anything.

01Service Scope

Tabi Fixer is a personal travel concierge service operated by Arthur (the "Fixer," "I," "me") and designed to assist English-speaking travelers visiting Japan. Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Restaurant research and reservation assistance (phone bookings, inquiry emails)
  • Itinerary planning and day-by-day scheduling advice
  • Translation and interpretation of Japanese-language materials
  • Real-time support via messaging during your trip (SOS support)
  • Local recommendations for activities, transport, and hidden-gem experiences
  • Airport transfer coordination (when selected as an add-on)

All services are provided remotely unless otherwise arranged. This is a concierge and advisory service — Tabi Fixer does not act as a licensed tour operator, travel agent, or transportation provider.


02Response Times

Response times are the same across all plans. I'm available every day and aim to respond as follows:

  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM JST: Mostly within 30 minutes
  • Outside of those hours: Guaranteed within 2 hours

Japan Standard Time is UTC+9. If you're messaging from the US, that's roughly same-evening to early-morning your time — I'll still get back to you within 2 hours.

VIP plan clients have access to a direct phone line for urgent, real-time emergencies while in Japan.


03SOS Support Messages

SOS support is included with each plan (2 messages for Basic, 4 for Plus, unlimited for VIP). An SOS message is defined as a request for real-time help with an urgent or unexpected situation during your trip — for example, a missed train, a booking problem, a sudden illness, or a language emergency.

SOS messages are not intended for general trip questions, additional planning requests, or restaurant recommendation changes. Those are covered under your plan's standard scope.

Unused SOS messages do not carry over to future trips or plans.


04Payment & Cancellation

Payment

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are listed in USD. Full payment is required before work begins. No plans or add-ons are activated until payment is confirmed.

Cancellation by You

  • More than 14 days before your trip: Full refund, no questions asked.
  • 7–14 days before your trip: 50% refund.
  • Less than 7 days before your trip: No refund, as work will have been completed or be in progress.

To cancel, email arthur.tabifixer@gmail.com with your order details. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days.

Cancellation by Tabi Fixer

In the unlikely event I need to cancel due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund. I will make every effort to refer you to alternative resources.

Add-Ons

Add-ons (e.g., airport transfers, restaurant reservations) are non-refundable once the booking or arrangement has been made on your behalf.


05What I Can & Can't Guarantee

I will do my very best to get you into the restaurants you want, plan your perfect itinerary, and solve problems as they arise. However, some things are outside my control:

  • Restaurant availability — popular places fill up, especially during peak seasons
  • Third-party cancellations (transport, venues, events)
  • Changes to Japan's entry requirements, health regulations, or local restrictions
  • Acts of nature, strikes, or other force majeure events

If a restaurant or experience I've booked on your behalf cancels, I will work to find an alternative at no extra charge.


06Liability Disclaimer

Tabi Fixer provides concierge and advisory services. I am not responsible for:

  • Personal injury, illness, or loss of property during your trip
  • The actions or quality of third-party service providers (restaurants, transport companies, hotels)
  • Financial losses arising from changes to plans, itineraries, or bookings beyond my control
  • Decisions you make based on my recommendations

My total liability to you in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid for your plan. I strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance before visiting Japan.

Tabi Fixer is a solo operation. I'm a real person doing my best to make your trip unforgettable — not a corporation with a legal department. These terms exist to set fair expectations on both sides.


07Privacy & Your Information

I collect only the information needed to provide your service — typically your name, travel dates, email address, and trip preferences. I do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except as needed to make bookings on your behalf (e.g., providing your name to a restaurant).

Booking confirmations, itineraries, and personal details are kept confidential and stored securely. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing me.


08Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. For bookings already in progress, the terms in effect at the time of purchase apply.
